What Should be Considered after All on Six (6) Dental Implants? in Antalya Dental Center-Clinic / Turkey

Adel Dental Clinic

After all on six dental implants treatment:

  • You should avoid eating for roughly two hours until the effects of the local anaesthetic wear off.
  • For a few days following the procedure, avoid consuming hot or cold meals since tooth sensitivity may develop.
  • For the benefit of dental care, dental care procedures including flossing, mouthwash, and brushing teeth shouldn't be done the day of the procedure.
  • To preserve ideal gum health, however, regular flossing should be resumed as part of the patient's daily oral hygiene routine as soon as the treatment is over and the dentist provides the all-clear.
  • Setting up a follow-up appointment with a periodontist—a dental specialist with expertise in gum health and the diagnosis, management, and prevention of gum diseases—is also advised. During this visit, the soft tissue around the recently cemented restorations will be examined to make sure it is healing appropriately and that no infections or inflammations are showing. Regardless of the number of teeth in the mouth, keeping good oral hygiene—which includes flossing on a regular basis—is essential to the health of both natural and repaired teeth.
  • After the treatment, gargling should only be done for two days. Food, however, need to be consumed 30 minutes after gargling.
  • Mild pain is to be expected in the early going. For these pains, the doctor's advised painkillers should be administered.
  • You should take antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor, being mindful of the dosage and timing of the medication.
  • Drinking too much alcohol should be avoided from the start of the treatment until the finish.
  • Because smoking cigarettes has a property that makes it easier for dangerous germs to grow quickly in the mouth, smoking should not be done while receiving treatment. This will have a detrimental effect on the effectiveness of the treatment. During the critical stage of osseointegration, when the dental implants permanently bond with the jawbone, it is especially necessary to abstain from smoking. Smoking can affect the stability of the implants and slow down the healing process. In addition, routine dental examinations—which include X-rays—are necessary to keep an eye on the condition of any prosthetic restorations, like a complete denture, as well as natural teeth. Patients can maximise the long-term success of their dental treatment by keeping their surroundings smoke-free and scheduling regular dental appointments.
  • While interim prostheses are being installed on six implants in the lower and upper jaws, soft meals should be ingested. The union of the implant and the jawbone is negatively impacted by the consumption of hard foods. Hard meals, however, have the potential to harm entire dentures. As a result, until permanent dentures are fitted, all foods that could damage teeth must be avoided.
  • On the day of treatment and for a few days after, there may be some little bleeding and edoema.
  • Dental hygiene and oral health must be prioritised if you want your teeth to last long after treatment. Dental floss and mouthwash should be utilised, along with proper brushing techniques for healthy teeth. To avoid gum disease and plaque accumulation around dental restorations like bridges or implants, it's crucial to practise proper oral hygiene. When a missing tooth is replaced with a removable partial denture, the longevity and functionality of the denture depend on the appropriate cleaning and upkeep of the artificial tooth as well as the anchoring clasps. The removable partial denture can be kept bacterial-free and clean with regular brushing, the use of specialised denture cleaners, and overnight soaking. Patients may keep a confident and healthy smile while also ensuring the success and duration of their dental treatments by adhering to strict oral hygiene protocols.
